Hello my friends!
Thank you for your patience as I've worked to bring you something NEW! I've had so much fun over the years building DFitLife from simple personal training into a full wellness platform. And just as my business has evolved, so have I—well, so have all of us.
Over time, working with so many of you one-on-one, in our group coaching, or even just in casual chats, I've found that adjusting exercise and nutrition is no longer enough. Once we approach midlife, those same strategies we used before (exercise more, eat less) somehow seem to backfire:
Those stubborn 5 pounds not only doubled but moved right to our bellies.
That second (or third) glass of wine leaves us feeling awful the next day.
Eight hours of uninterrupted sleep feels like a pipe dream, not a nightly occurrence.
And why? It's not because we are slacking in our efforts. The game has changed, and so must the player!
Reframing Midlife: It’s a Vital Shift!
As I approach my 5th decade (wow!), I've had to make some big changes myself:
Cardio is now an occasional dalliance, not the bulk of my workouts.
Sleep (and my evening routine) is guarded as sacred.
Alcohol, while I still imbibe, is far less frequent.
Fiber and protein are the highlights of my meals—carbs are no longer the enemy!
Fun and rest are now daily requirements.
As I have learned to shift my own strategies, it has helped me evolve my coaching, too. Most of my clients are in a similar age bracket (45–65ish), and it turns out what worked for them before is no longer the right path either.
Small Tweaks, Huge Results:
Better Sleep & New PRs: By decreasing workout frequency to improve recovery, increasing water intake, and prioritizing protein, a 45-year-old female executive suddenly started sleeping better and hitting new personal records at the gym.
Reclaimed Health: By focusing on gut health, cleaning up her diet, and starting HRT, a 58-year-old hard-working woman got off a 30-year antacid prescription and was able to wean off her antidepressant.
Next-Level Energy: A 58-year-old male executive found that by moderating his alcohol intake and optimizing his workout efforts, he reached a whole new level of energy and vitality.
What if you made the shift?
What would happen if you sat down to reassess what you're doing—how you're exercising, what you're eating, and how you're managing stress?
What if you made just a few small, intentional adjustments? The kind that leave you feeling like you have more time to do the things you love and more energy to enjoy them?
That is what Vital Shift Coaching is all about.
Together, we take a look at the whole picture—where you've been, where you are, and where you're trying to go. As a team, you and I plot our path and make a plan. I hold your hand and coach you through the rough spots. There is a new way forward.
