Eat Seasonally to Maximize Nutrition and Minimize Costs

Imagine:: There was a time, not so long ago, when you could only get the fruits and vegetables that were in season.
You would go to the store, and while your options would be more limited, you would get very nutritious and delicious produce. The trade-off was being stuck with heartier and less sweet options during the cold months and having mostly light and more sugary options in the warmer months. Today, we want everything when we want it, and we don’t want to wait. Consumers want to be able to eat strawberries in the Fall in Minnesota, and don’t care that Mother Nature didn’t intend for that to work.
